Oct 16, 2019 7:00pm ‐ Oct 16, 2019 8:30pm

Description

There is heightened awareness that in order to become excellent and to succeed in quality initiatives, a facility must have excellence in leadership and communication. It is also beneficial for a facility to have a method to assure staff feel engaged, valued, recognized and have a chance to grow in the organization. However, there is little penetration of leadership expertise, or mentoring of new leaders, in the nursing home environment. Whether you are a leader hoping to develop new skills, or you want to be a leader or to influence the leaders in your facility, this webinar will address your needs. Dr. Ferrini will bring own experiences (and mistakes) and provide a practical introduction to leadership concepts like managing up, teaming, rounding with purpose, and current best practices in leadership and communication.

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate “managing up”
  • Analyze your facility for examples of team and teaming and plot a strategy to improve teaming
  • Define “rounding with a purpose” and demonstrate how rounds can meet five critical employee needs
  • Evaluate your own leadership strengths and identify strategies to improve your skills and to improve efficacy

Speaker(s):

  • Rebecca Ferrini, MD, MPH, CMD, Medical Director, County of San Diego, Health and Human Services, Edgemoor DP SNF
