Description

This session will describe the need to define what constitutes quality physician practice in the nursing home. The Society is in the process of defining nursing home physician competencies. Speakers will define the job analysis, explain the methods used in the job analysis, and discuss who participated in the nursing home attending physician job analysis. Finally, this session will review the results of the job tasks analysis and its impact on long-term care practice.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Describe the importance of defining quality long-term care medical practice.
  • Define the purpose and importance of a job analysis in establishing certification.
  • Discuss the key findings of the nursing home physician attending job analysis.
  • Explain the implications of the findings of the job analysis.
