Description

This session will discuss common gynecological issues for older women, including their diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment, with a special focus on the geriatric pelvic exam.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Identify common gynecological conditions in older women, including vaginitis, vulvar disorders, pelvic organ prolapse, postmenopausal bleeding, and fecal and urinary incontinence.
  • Review the pelvic examination with a discussion of possible findings common in the geriatric population.
  • Describe the evaluation, treatment, and appropriate referral for common gynecologic complaints in older women.
  • Discuss sexual health and dysfunction in older women.
