Description

This session will provide a description of the Evidence Integration Triangle for Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (EIT-4-BPSD) intervention and provide the resources for implementation in a real world setting. We will review the four steps for implementation of EIT-4-BPSD. The session also will provide the resources for implementation, including the educational materials for staff, tools for environmental assessment, policies and current care plans, and additional resources such as Tidbits for providing innovative person-centered care approaches for management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Describe the four steps of the EIT-4-BPSD.
  • Describe the best ways to implement an innovative LTC approach.
  • Describe the nursing home tool kit, the functionfocusedcare.org webpage, and the how to access Tidbits for implementation of EIT-4-BPSD.
  • Facilitate a brainstorming session to initiate the EIT-4-BPSD in your setting.
