Session Description:

This live activity will explore the regulatory requirements for the system of care of the nursing home resident who elects the Medicare Hospice benefit. New guidelines and recently implemented requirements for diagnostic classification and hospice quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) will be presented. Participants will receive additional information about resources available for detailed study of these issues including regulatory guidelines and new required programs that impact the provision of end-of-life care in nursing facilities that utilize hospice to participate in delivering that care.

 

Learning Objectives

The overall goal of this live activity is to enhance participants’ knowledge and ultimately improve competency by providing the most recent developments and updates available on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements of hospice services.

Medical Directors, attending physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers and administrators should participate in this webinar.

CMD Credit

This live activity has been pre-approved by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) for a total of 1.5 management hours toward certification as a Certified Medical Director in Long-Term Care (CMD). The CMD program is administered by the ABPLM. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit actually spent on the activity.
