Session Description: This session will present a case-based approach to enable discussion of various psychiatric syndromes, diagnosis, and treatment options using different classes of psychopharmacological agents. Presenters will discuss indication side effects drug interactions and uses of antidepressants, anxiolytics, sedative-hypnotics, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotic medications.
Discuss appropriate use/s of the common classes of psychopharmacological agents in older adults in PA/LTC settings
Describe common indications, side-effects and caveats relative to the use of various antidepressants, mood stabilizers/anti-consultants, antipsychotics, and Anxiolytics & Sedative Hypnotics
