Session Description:
This session will help practitioners stay current with some of the cutting-edge issues in infectious diseases as they pertain to older adults. These topics are recognizing and responding to multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), optimizing the use of antibiotics through stewardship and reducing the risk of infection through adult vaccinations.

  • Identify high-risk groups of older adults who acquire MDROs.
  • Recognize opportunities for antimicrobial stewardship in their facility or institution.
  • Prescribe appropriate immunizations for older adults.
