Description

Nursing home providers are under increasing pressure to avoid pharmacologic management of behavioral symptoms. This case-based webinar designed to teach role play as a technique for identifying the etiology of behavioral symptoms among long-term care residents. By literally getting in the shoes of the resident, providers will be able to critically and creatively design a resident-centered care plan to address behavioral symptoms.

Learning Objectives:
The overall goal of this webinar is to enhance learners' knowledge and ultimately competency of non-pharmacologic interventions and treatments by providing participants with the latest developments and tools available.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to -

  • Identify common triggers of behaviors in long-term care.
  • Develop an individualized care plan for residents with behavioral symptoms.
  • Use role play as a technique for identifying triggers of behavioral symptoms.
