Designation Statement:
The American Medical Directors Association designates this educational activity for a maximum of 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AMDCP Credit Designation:
This session has been approved for a total of management 0.5 credit hours toward certification as a Certified Medical Director in Long Term Care (CMD).

Session Description:
AMDA’s Public Policy Committee leaders will deliver an overview of AMDA’s top policy issues for 2013.  Specific updates will be provided on DEA nurse as agent, dementia care in nursing homes, legislative advocacy, communications with government agencies, health care reform implementation efforts, and payment policy changes (i.e. care coordination).

  • List the top AMDA policy issues in 2013.
  • Discuss AMDA’s advocacy on legislative initiatives, health care reform, and payment policy.
