Session Description: F-tag 501 stipulates that the medical director is responsible for the implementation of resident care policies and the coordination of medical care. One of the most important aspects of the role of the medical director is collaboration with the administrator. In this session, sponsored by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM), an experienced certified medical director and administrator will use a case presentation to discuss the expectations each has of the other role, describe common interests, identify potential areas of conflicts that may occur, and discuss strategies to effectively communicate with and collaborate with the administrator. Time will be reserved to address questions from the audience.
