Session Description:
This session will present case scenarios of common clinical conditions and focus on practical management tools in the PA/LTC space in keeping with current clinical practice guidelines from various specialty organizations as they pertain to the older population. The controversies regarding implementation of published recommendations in this population will be discussed.

  • Discuss practical management of HTN, CHF and CKD/ESRD.
  • Explain evidence-based management of edema and electrolyte disturbances
  • Transition from acute to chronic management of COPD and Diabetes.
  • Describe the  differential diagnosis and management of anemia and vitamin D deficiency.
