Session Description:
Recent health care reform efforts from the Affordable Care Act to the recently enacted Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) (aka SGR repeal legislation) have dramatically changed the fee-for-service reimbursement and delivery model. AMDA members need to be aware of changes in payment structures and quality measures that will determine how care is delivered to patients in PA/LTC settings. This full day session, sponsored by the AMDA Public Policy Committee, will have various panels of experts in the field that will cover the numerous arrangements ranging from bundling to accountable care organizations (ACOs) as well as the role of Health Information Technology (HIT) and quality measures in promoting person-centered value-based care.

Learning Objective(s):

  • Explain the changing healthcare payment and delivery reforms.
  • Describe the impact of healthcare reform initiatives on PA/LTC practitioners.
  • Describe the impact of current quality measures on the delivery of PA/LTC.
