Session Description:
This session will discuss the results of a survey conducted at the 2010 AMDA Annual Symposium to determine: (1) the laboratory value thresholds that should be used for the active medication monitoring system to generate alerts about potential adverse drug events; (2) the specific information to be included in the alerts about potential adverse drug events; (3) the preferred method of communicating alerts about potential adverse drug events; and (4) the use and potential benefits of point-of care medication references on mobile devices, such as personal digital assistants, handheld computers or smartphones.

  • Recall the laboratory value thresholds that should be used for the active medication monitoring system to generate alerts about potential ADEs.
