Session Description:
Case presentations of usual (and unusual!) coding scenarios in the long term care continuum will be presented and discussed by a panel of experts. There will abundant opportunity to interact with the expert panel as well as through an audience response system.

Learning Objectives(s):

  • Comprehend the relationships of medical necessity, complexity, medical decision making, documentation and level of coding.
  • Review the differences and similarities between E/M services across different sites of service in Long Term Care.
  • Explain the appropriate use of procedural codes in Long Term Care.
