Session Description: This session presents a range of non-compliance issues encountered in LTC settings, including both medical non-compliance and non-compliance with facility policies or behavioral limitations related to treatment and residence in a LTC facility. Cases will be presented to illustrate some of these situations, as well as methods of intervention emphasizing care planning, documentation, and both negotiation and limit setting.
Identify at least three potential non-compliant behaviors observed in LTC.
List components of the capacity assessment, and elucidate at least four potential interventions to address the noncompliance.
Explain how to document in a manner which provides clear communication and protection from risk.
