Session Description:
The Advancing Excellence in America's Nursing Home Campaign is in its third year and is launching a new set of campaign goals and a different methodology of measuring success. This session will recap the successes and challenges from the first phase (two years) of the campaign. The session will go on to describe the process of revising the eight original goals with an all volunteer steering committee representing 29 different national organizations. The second phase of the campaign will be discussed; description of the new campaign goals and the revised methodology for measuring both national and state goals. Specific states will be highlighted as exemplars of success and of challenges of the state local area networks of experts (LANEs). Lastly, three Commonwealth funded studies will be summarized to illustrate efforts to improve the success of the LANEs in supporting nursing homes to achieve excellence in eight specific goals.
