Session Description: This session opens with keynote speaker, Mary Jane Koren, MD,MPH, Assistant Vice President of the Commonwealth Fund, presentingn on-traditional initiatives for quality improvement. In particular, Dr. Koren presents the activities of the Advancing Excellence campaign and the role research plays in the campaign. Following the keynote, the project from the 2008 Pfizer® Quality Improvement Awards and project from the 2009 Evercare® Awards are presented by award winners. Learning Objectives:
