This session presents a review of the literature supporting the efficacy of therapeutic exercise in the management of three common geriatric syndromes: functional disability, falls, and cognitive impairment. The presenters will describe appropriate prescription of therapeutic exercise including type, intensity, frequency and duration. Strategies for interdisciplinary teams to design, implement and track patients’ responses to physiologically effective and safe exercise programs will also be discussed.
